PROFILE OF POULTRY DEVELOPMENT

Poultry Development is an independent consultant with experiences in rural poverty alleviation programmes in which a smallholder poultry concept forms the basis for income generating activities and employment opportunities.

The concepts encompasses:

The concept has been developed in Bangladesh over the past 15 years and the main NGO involved has an annual capacity to establish 200,000 families with smallholder poultry activities.

The experiences cover also intensive poultry sectors with emphasis on development of supply and service activities to create an enabling environment for small intensive operated farms. A system appropriated in the process of transformation of state and cooperative farms into a structure with private operated farms.

Hans Askov Jensen, the owner of Poultry Development, has 40 years of experiences in poultry related activities, of which 20 years have been as development consultant. For 10 years he was employed in an international consulting company and has for the last 8 years operated as freelance consultant in Poultry Development.
